Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter from Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her family consisted of an aunt who worked as an housewife, and her father who taught. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick was a gifted entertainer and singer at a young age. She perform shows using puppets for the neighbors. Her fairytale rise to fame started when she won her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 which led to a call from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she would like to work in show business. McCormick had her first significant role when she got a part in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. That same year, she was featured in another commercial that aired on TV for Chatty Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the part of Wind It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the oldest daughter in the towheaded trio in The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick revealed in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year period on the program. At the time, she was just 16 years old and he was 19. The incident would have happened according to her. However, the timing of our romance was not right.
