Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's kids - was born at Woodland Hills in 1956. Her father was a school teacher and her mom was mother at home. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began singing and dancing at an early age and often performed show-like puppets in front of the children from her neighborhood. When McCormick was six years older, she was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency called and asked her whether she would like to enter show business. McCormick had her first significant role when she got a part as a television character in the 1964 commercial of Mattels latest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in an additional company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was quickly cast in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from more than 1200 children to become one of the oldest twin daughters in The Brady Bunch TV show The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. The run of five years for the show proved to be a huge successful one. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in 2008. In it she revealed the fact that McCormick almost lost her virginity while on stage of the show during its fifth season to Barry Williams. The actress was sixteen years old and the actor was 19, at that time. This timing wouldn't have been ideal for us, she informed me.
