Anita Barone

An actress with a variety of stage roles who has been relegated mostly to show-biz sitcoms TV, Anita Barone received her greatest chance in the medium as partner to Jeff Foxworthy on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," which was a one-season show on ABC between 1995 and 1996. Barone performed on stage for the first time at five years old in Detroit following the move of her family to the city from St Louis. Barone had appeared in more than 50 productions by the time of 23, mostly for university productions and regional theatres. Among her stage roles were Juliet as Juliet in "Romeo as well as Juliet," Helen Keller in a production that was based on "Monday after the Miracle" as well as the lead part of Agnes who is a young, tormented nun, from "Agnes of the Gods." Her screen debut came by playing a minor role for the role of "The Rosary Murders" in "The The Rosary Murders" (1987), had one scene part in "Ricochet" (1991) as well as was cast as the lead in the indie romantic comedy "Just Friends" (1996). But Barone's first Hollywood job of note was in the company stock of "Carol And Company" (NBC in 1990 and 1991) which was a disastrous effort of Carol Burnett to revive the variety show/comedy program.
