Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter of Richard McCormick. Her birth date was August 5, 1956, on the outskirts of Woodland Hills California. Her father taught school while her mother was a housewife. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was a talented entertainer and singer at a young age. She put on shows with puppets to entertain her friends. At the age 6, McCormick won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her to ask if the actress would be interested in a career in show business. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her debut major performance in 1964 on an tv commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred in another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play The Wind It up and It Breaks in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 200 auditioned kids, played the third of three head-to-head daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five seasons. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. The book revealed the fact that McCormick almost lost her virginity on the sets of the show in its fifth season to Barry Williams. The actress was just 16 years old and the actor was aged 19 at that time. It was a time that would have not had worked out for us, she told me.
